Single Screw Extruder
- Ideal for production, material testing, new product development and quality control purposes
- Used in various processes such as compounding, pelletizing, sheet extrusion, pipe extrusion, wire coating and blown film
- Available in 1 1/2", 2 1/2", 3 1/2", 4 1/2", 6", 8", 10" and 12" diameters
- A variety of standard and custom-designed screws and barrels are available for various applications
- hardened alloy steel or bimetallic cast liners for added wear and chemical resistance
- Rupture disc port protects against excessive pressure build up
- Reduced root diameters in the venting area allow for efficient single or multi-stage venting
- Vacuum system with separator on the extruder frame is easily accessed for cleaning and maintenance
- Screws finished with Stainless steel, Dura-nickel, nitride hardening chrome or plasma coating
Control Systems and Drives
- The combination barrel top port may be used for venting
- Control panels incorporate the latest technology: DC ammeters, digital speed indicators, heat zone meters, pressure gauages, melt thermocouples, strip chart recorders, and any other custom instrumentation as required
- Control and monitoring units are readily accessible and easy to operate, which allows for the process to be monitored at each stage of the production
- Barrels are divided into heating and cooling zones for greater temperature specificity
- Heating is derived from resistance heating elements and cooling from the use of air or fluid
- Temperature of each barrel zone is controlled separately
- Auto tuning PID temperature controls are standard for each zone, displaying set point, present value and digital amp meter and heater open alarm
- Drive units: low noise gear reducers with integrate torque distribution, standard AC inverter drives for excellent torque over speed range and DC drive with or without tach feedback are also available
